Alex, if I'm around, I'd like to come along and talk technique. Just depends what's going on on that particular weekend I guess.

Getting some video footage of each other when we're out sailing so we can do some fault analysis after could be something to aim for!

Alex, the freestyle coffee morning sounds great as long it stays on topic, if just turns into another avenue for people to vent their frustration then it could get tiresome. I hope to give vulcans a good crack this year so any tips on getting my chop hops diallled would be superb. ill keep an eye out for the truck, i work on a lot of building sites, farms etc so you never know, were your boards stolen too?

Hi Mike and Big Wave Dave.

OK I will wait and see what happens when the guy from the council comes back. It was nice to here that if we really want keys we can obtain them at the end of the day we just want to go sailing.

  Hi

I am looking to replace my 4.2 4.7 and 5.8 along with a skinny mast if any of you guys were looking to sell.

Also so we had a target how how do people feel about meeting up next Saturday 24th at 9.00 to chat about chop hopping, so in the really nere future we are all getting our fins further out of the water.

i haven,t got any freinds, lol.and the people that i,ve called w*nkers are the same people that have made the problerms at eastbeach, plus their atitude of f*ck you im alright jack ,because we have key you dont is why i called them w*nkers in the first place.TOM if you would like to speak to me face to face about it i,d be only too happy to discuss it as men. cheers for your comments. as a shoebury residents we should all have keys and not the BENT elite few who always seem to get their way. cheers mate

mike, bit of a u-turn on the keys there.?.DON dont buy a key from them ,they shouldn,t have them in the first place and the council are looking into anybody who has keys, and hasn,t obtained them from the council.yes i know we cant get them at the moment but we are getting in,and the council are on it, beleive me im not happy but if you support this action the wetndry simon mud eastbeach take over carries on,as southend residents we should all get keys an way(free of charge) and be able to use east beach as we like.

Hi Don and all EWC members.
Sunday seems to be the last day of the NE winds and I will be there to let you in you then can sail at Chalkwell or Thorpe Bay. Please reconsider your need for a key.

  Hi Don
You are welcome to have a key so is any member of the EWC providing they are aware of the risk that things may change and it may be redundant within a short period. But I would prefer that requests are are directed to my e-mail address and not on this site

  Hi Mike,
Thanks for replying to my question. It is good to hear the club is on this problem and is trying to resolve it. But I do think I can afford the risk buying as key for a few weeks if it gives me the option of sailing when I want without asking someone to let me in.

Mike

It was pointless having keys cut that would be redundant in a few weeks. Members would not be happy paying out for key they couldn't use. Unfortunately the person I need to contact is on holiday to next week. I will be contacting him next week and will update you all. EWC is not sitting on their arses we are working hard it is just we don't rant and wave about it

The key situation yes I did keys cut for the committee., this was done because of the anticipation the East beach would be used because of the NE winds and we could let members in. But because of the uncertainly of the final outcome of what other system may be installed and the four attempts of glueing up the lock. Cont...

Seems a few things need to be said.
The latest meeting that Simon had with the council was kept to himself we were unaware for reasons we can only guess. We have had previous meetings with council when the outcome then was that they were going to put in a hight restriction only with a sign saying kite/windsurfers & boats only. cont...

you don't need torpedos for the yacht club, they sort themselves out like when they sailed that cat into one of the groynes the other week, priceless!! i'm up for chin wagging about some moves and then going for it, its got to be a better learning curve than just blasting. 2010 has got to be the year of the forward loop!!

Peace man V...It's at the back of his shop near the entrance to the Royals in Southend High Street. He's still trying to fix a time so any input is welcomed. You never know, we could all be looping this summer with the right advice :)

PS Kite surfers don't bother me either. I'd like to fire a torpedo at some of those twits from Thorpe Bay Yacht Club however. Maybe they can sail at Frinton aswell.

Speedy, wheres Alex's new cafe? have I missed something, sailed east beach loads in past and never had a problem with the kiters, apart from the kites? I know the locks and bollards arent great at the moment but its not like we've got any wind forecast, i'm sure it will all be sorted by the time the sw's return and then we'll all be sailing elsewhere. massive peace

If you scroll back about ten pages(before the verbal diarrhoea kicked off again), Alex is trying to arrange a thing at his new cafe for windsurfers to chat about technique and tricks(Not East Beach!). Just thought I'd mention this because it seems like a good thing but got swept away in the sea of garbage that seems to be pouring from the Shoebury direction.

gary, this is the same problerm us locals have we cant get keys either.the essex windsurfing club commitee didn,t go to the council meeting that (simon mud) went to and he got all the keys alocated to him and he,s close mates in kiting.the only reason anybody at chalkwell(essex) windsurfing club have keys is because mike horsfall got one key from simon mud and had six cut and gave them to the commitee members only.make what you want of that.good luck mate

  Hi everyone,

Southend Marine Activities Centre has a watersports open day this Saturday 17th April from 12:00-17:00.

"Ever wanted to try a watersport? Then now is the perfect opportunity, because for one day only you can try your hand at sailing, windsurfing, kayaking or jetskiing all for free! For more information call 01702 612770."

Southend Marine Activities Centre
Eastern Esplanade,
Southend on Sea, Essex, SS1 2YH

Weather is looking great for it, sunny and light, perfect for bringing the family and bigger kids to have a go at the different activities. The RNLI hovercraft should be very close to the beach and some kitesurfing demos too hopefully.

Cheers

Emma

Gal - can they not just park outside the gates, just where the buses wait? It'd be ok just for today? I've done that before, rig up in the corner just in front of where the buses park and then put your car in the little road around the corner.

Blimey Alex, that's a nightmare. If you are desperate for a sail at any point you are welcome to borrow a board as long as it's not my RRD(couldn't watch my baby looping through the air at 20ft).

A proper forum, thank goodness. Can it be one where we can post our own photos please.

I don't want to get involved but which Peter? I know at least three who sail.

Seadweller, slight problem for me, I've got a 3 month old, a 3 year old and a wife.......the wife being the problem...lol! (she's actually reading this..haha!). Committing to a regular time is going to prove difficult for me as to be fair I ditch them enough when the wind blows, I guess I could join in as and when if that's ok.
