whyme.thats right ,eastbeach you cant drive through it anymore.new barriers stop you at the top end by the first set of toilet, you park there,if your the general public, you walk to the next three fields ,public picnic area(no cars).the watersports end,you drive down shoebury high street, turn right at the traffic light into blackgate road,up to the gate, then you need a key to get in, and on top of that you pay and display charges.

East beach no problems, all big dramas amounting to nothing, but hey thanks to the tosser trying to block up the padlocks what if the emergency services needed to get in NICE ONE apart from that it was a fantastic day.

Key for Blackgate entrance to East Beach.

Will all windsurfers please apply for key by e-mailing to derekkenyan@southend.gov.uk
something on the lines of:
“I am windsurfer a would like to apply for key to gain access to East Beach”

Once they receive a few hundred applications (including kite surfers) it is hoped that they will rethink the situation.

David, maybe you should leave it and get a warmer suit or wait for warmer water. It's true, it's a bit complicated at shoebury at the moment with parking and launching.

I was watching some guys sailing on the Ray yesterday sailing in a NE. Has anybody ever tried that? I guess if it's bank to bank in a SW then the opposite would apply. The only problem being how turbulent it is.

David, i think you'll be ok with the 3/2 suit when the tide is rising and falling i.e when you are chest deep. You will not be ok when it's high tide. I know because i braved it today with the same suit!

Does the money from the membership mainly pay for the chalkwell green lease? Are thorpe bay and east beach leased? It seems barmy to me that the chalkwell area has to be leased yet it is still public space that can be used by anyone. Do the kiters lease any of there main launch/rigging spots?

SX CHRIS, its good to see you doing demo days, and it would be nice if you and wetndry could combined on the same day?. probably not possible but would make for a good day for all the sailors to have the chance to try out such a large range on kit in the same place.?. maybe.

guys if you had bothered to come to the AGM,you would know, that simon mud is going early to eastbeach this weekend and will leave the gate open for us ,it maybe close but he,s taking the padlock off so just open it let yourself in and shut it behind you, ok. , as most of you sail chalkwell on a regular basis, you should be members of the windsurfing club ,its in your best interests.yes you, speedy, jimbo, baldmart, and all the other ray dwellers. lol.im not a member because i would never join a club that would have me as a member. groucho marks ,night at the oprea. lol.

So if i second it Chris, am i in?! By the way, if we can find a space on my car, we should add to the decor with an SX sticker to balance the wet n dry selection! Also, as you are located at Manor trading estate, can you recommend someone to check the wheel balance and break discs? The steering and breaking has been a bit funky since i hit a railing in the snow. Ta.
