  Hi all.

Was great to be out again after the armchair winter. What a cracking short blast before the 7m got too much for me. I shouldn't have been so lazy and changed down really to make the most of it. Emma, you put me shame.

What a great turnout as well down there today, and there was me worrying there wouldnt be anyone about last night.

Cant make the rest of the weekend but hoping for more next Saturday. CANT WAIT!!!!

Have a good one over the weekend you all.

I second that Jimbo! Why did i leave the 85 FSW in the garage? Doh. My freestyle was almost submarining quite often. And any pressure on the fin was spin out. I just wanted to lock down and go!

  Hi All,

I would just like to express my thanks for the concern shown when my boom exploded ths morning in the Ray (both sides broke at once at the clamp and half way along the tube) when I hit a sand bar at full tilt (at least 30Knts). I ended up walking/swimming my kit into the nearest beach which was by Bell Wharf and walking to pick up my van. Thanks to all who offered help

Cool. I was aiming to for 11.30 to 12ish so that fits perfectly. Nice and shallow for the dunking im guarenteed to have after 4 months off the water!!!

Is speedy out? I wandered down there last Sunday for a nose and he was out all on his lonesome poor chap.

Mitch. You get out for an hour, before the tide comes in and you won't even have to put your hands in the water. I should think 12.30 to 1.30 is your golden hour.

So distracted by Noel fielding on Chatty Man ... Anyway digress. My view is you go out, you find out, you come in when your fingers are numb and then you can gauge conditions.

Robert learning on your own is a mission, if you dont do a course to get the basics dialled then try sailing with others, were all a friendly bunch and always willing to help. There were a good few down at thorpe bay that gave out sound advice amongst all the piss taking of course lol

Which 2 websites do you find most accurate for Southend wind?

I tend to use BBC, windguru, Big Salty.

For Friday - the way things currently look is that the wind is coming through earlier rather than later which could make the Ray good, but then a nice lie and rockin up at Thorpe Bay for midday ish is very tempting ...
