Sorry guys, but if i wanted to learn to forward loop locally does anyone have any good tips on how to do it. Books and mags just assume you have ideal conditions.

gomez, well said, youve just got to try it, .this is why years ago i stop sailing a chalkwell to much technical talk, and lots of people with all the gear and no idea. lol. just do what suits you, and remember new kit doesnt always mean better. go up against 8yr + old pryde kit and your get your arse kicked.

  My final comment on this,
so many people ask for advise on the loop then ignore it, whats the saying.
! You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it (loop) drink.

gomez. your probably right on the wave thing, sadly traveling costs big time with a gallon of petrol around 5.50 so a trip to camber and backs, about 40+,plus a new boom each time, lol, i;ll stick to the local veneue,s and get some free coaching from alex.as you say some good loopers have come out of southend so if they learnt here no reason the rest of us cant.thanks for your tips hope we get more people on here like yourself, sometimes it sounds more like face book ,with speedy and emma on here, good to get a debate on windsurfing for a change lol, cheers mate.

  Hi Spartan,
Yes you are right their are enough waves, but! , you do not get a wave that is spaced enough to allow you to settle in as you approach the face and every wave is a good wave for looping.
What you will see locally are people trying to loop of anything, this is when they will take longer and go through more pain. Their has been many a good looper come out of this part of essex and i am telling you what most would say who make the effort to travel. Trust me on this.

speedy, i can tack my 105 jp, as im 15 stone +, my 90lts (oldschool) is abit sinky, and as you know tacking is generally a light wind move, so its pretty windy 25+ mph when im on my 90lt so no need to tack, strangly theres a move called gybing, and many different types try some you might like it.its not that i dont tack ,its a move you learn then foreget quickly as you become a better sailor, futile move if your not in big waves or in very light winds, it just take all your speed and momentum on an already difficult day.
